I enjoy every
yellow thing
that blooms in
early spring.

Note: This ditty is in honor of writing and rewriting manuscripts galore. Plus, today, I won an award-winning book thanks to a cat named Maggie. A special thanks to the cat’s owner, Irene Latham, poet and novelist extraordinaire, who blogs at Live Your Poem and contributes to Poetry Friday. As for the book, to use Irene’s words: “if you haven’t checked out POET: The Remarkable Story of George Moses Horton by Don Tate (Peachtree, 2015), you’re missing out!” I plan to read it as soon as it comes my way. Lucky me! Thanks Maggie and Irene!
I hope your day is as magical as mine. Warmly, Brenda
I love yellow too, so bright and cheery, like the sun.

… and most of all, you enjoy your family and your wonderful kids… By the way, did you have another Bday party around there and I was missing it?

We did have another b-day party, but I don’t usually post much about the kids. Enough people in town know about my blog, and sometimes the kids visit it at school with their friends. So I maintain their privacy. 🙂

There is so much yellow in spring!! I never used to like yellow as a colour much – especially wearing it, but always liked it in the flowers of spring. Perhaps it’s best on flowers! 😉
And congratulations on winning the book – it must have been your lucky week!! 😀

I guess so! I wish good things came in threes, but that seems confined to the bad. 😉

I don’t want to be a negative Nancy but I don’t win much either so I would be ecstatic to win! 😀

I was delighted. It made my day. Plenty of times I don’t win, so it makes the few winning occasions wonderful.
