The colors of life,
of all things growing,
form a complex rainbow
in any season.
They linger as autumn
slips seamlessly into winter.
Even winter lichen has
its tender pastel shades,
from oatmeal to sage,
and every dusty green
in between.
Then the snow comes,
hiding single colors
under a blinding white,
everything bright.
Even the flamboyant rose
gathers its vibrant hues
into buds on green stems
and droplets of crimson thorns.
A few shriveled red leaves
foreshadow spring.
The lemon winter sun
plays peekaboo in evergreens.
Gems of color twinkle in a landscape
scraped bare by arctic gales.

Note: Stay warm, spring is coming! My children are off from school this week. Games, art, movies and popcorn are on the agenda along with music, friends and hot food. I hope you are surrounded by color and magic. Warmly, Brenda
So refreshing with all those colors… even if they are faint in winter.. (love the lemon sun)

I sat in the sun today, and I felt immeasurably happier. We all need a good thaw now and then. 🙂

Sounds vigorous and fun. I sat at a park, soaking up every weak lemon sun ray that came my way. 🙂 My daughter is a monkey.

We might visit an indoor trampoline park today, if we can get our acts together. Which mean me getting OFF the computer. LOL

Indeed Blogging is quite time consuming… I have yet to get the balance right… ? 😀

I did manage to get OFF the computer and take the kids to the bouncy place. It was fun. 🙂 As for balance, I always feel behind on everything. I guess that’s the way it goes. 🙂

I think some of the prettiest skies are occur in winter. Like your picture, I love seeing a soft sky through bare trees.

The sun was so beautiful in person. The photograph is washed out compared to the reality. It was so lovely in the trees. Thanks!
