Red Maple Tanka

Red Leaf, tips curled, as if remembering

flight
one perfect moment
remembered

fingers curled in longing
to relive one’s height

  2. Ah yes, those one time perfect moments…this is very deep….very thoughtful! Perhaps every living thing wishes to remain in their best moment…even the dear little leaves. I shall never see a leaf the same again! 🙂

I think my best moment was playing Wendy in Peter Pan at age eighteen, strutting across a stage in great fun, young, slim and having the time of my life. Oh well, I guess it all has to change, at least I did it, I have those lovely memories of great times. 🙂

  3. The red maple leaf has always been one of my favorites. The idea of it being a perfect leaf and having a flight without any problems, great ideas!
If I could go back to a place I was riveted at the sight and history, it would be the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon in a place called, Teotihuacan, Mexico. I loved Mallorca, island in the Mediterranean, second best. Third, New England “haunts of yore.” 🙂 Very fun post, my dear friend! xo

If I could go back to a place I was riveted at the sight and history, it would be the pyramids other sun and the moon in a place that looks like Xochlatmechen but has another spelling (pronounced “soshalmeechen.”) I loved Mallory in the Mediterranean, second best. Third, New England “haunts of yore.” 🙂 fun post, my dear friend! xo
