Thank you for liking “Haunted Village” and “Happy Halloween.” Nice post! 🙂 I enjoyed reading your sad but lovely poem and seeing your colorful photos of autumn leaves.
Thanks! I enjoyed seeing the Halloween images around the blogosphere. I see you had even more. I love the creepy tower and the speculation on why it’s twisted. 🙂
You are welcome. 🙂 I like looking at Halloween images online too, and I enjoy coming up with Halloween-themed posts for my blog every October. The stories about the Crooked Spire were fun to share. I admire the creativity that went into those tales. 🙂
Yes, Halloween comes from an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain. I follow a WordPress blogger from Ireland named Ed Mooney, and he discusses Samhain in some of his posts. He also wrote some interesting posts about the lore surrounding werewolves and other figures like the Headless Horseman.
Yes, beautiful and sunny day when I left Mom’s but there had been temps in 30’s at night. Skyler celebrates #11, his cousins, Aunt Trista, Uncle Jamie and Aunt Felicia as guests. His Mom (Carrie) and brother hosting his gala event. Starts at 5:30 pm and I shall fall into bed after I get home. 9 days rather exhausting but meaningful time spent with Mom. Lots of visits from nursing staff and therapy team. Glad to hear you are healing and getting stronger after surgery, Brenda.
Today was glorious, and I sat in the sun among the falling leaves. I am getting better, thanks. Every time I go to the grocery store, I’m reminded how much better I’m managing. Thanks for asking. XOXO
Wonderful – and sad.

Thank you. I was a bit sad I guess. I don’t like being in pain much.

I miss Halloween once it’s done. It seems likely to be one of our holidays with the oldest roots.

I agree! I like myths and legends too. However, I think I wait until next October to revisit the ghosts and goblins. 🙂

Leaves fall like teardrops, so times in spurts, trickles or downpours, Brenda. Are you mending well? 🙂

Family must keep you very busy. And busy is good in my book — no time to worry about things. XOXO

I felt like summer disappeared because I was working on my arm and didn’t get outside enough. And time is going TOO FAST! LOL

Wonderful poetic words. Just love the middle line, “Tree tears spiral and tumble.”

Thanks, Olga. The leaves have been carpeting the roads and sidewalks, dry and crisp. Even the sound brings me back to childhood.
