Note: No matter what the weather, the birds eat and the kids play. Flocks of turkeys roam the neighborhood, pecking and munching. They’re as tall as my children and unafraid of anything but dogs!
Turkeys roaming the neighbourhood sounds lovely! Do they make a lot of noise? There were three peacocks that used to roam my village as a child, and they made the strangest noises!

Peacocks make such an eerie sound. So lonely and thwarted. The turkeys blabber and scold a bit, but it’s an earthly sound. It’s more that they are so HUGE. My son like to chase them, and my hubby reported that he caused one to fly up onto the neighbor’s roof. He said it looked ridiculous up there. 🙂

They have attitude. They are true Americans.

I’m trying to imagine those flocks of turkeys…can’t imagine that kind of bird in large numbers!! 😀 Are they completely wild, or have they escaped for an outing?!

Wild turkeys have returned to my area after years of seeing none at all. There are more each year. I love seeing them, love that we still have native birds thriving despite too many streets, fast driving soccer moms and shiftless teens. 🙂

Wish I could add a photo here — just got a picture of a turkey waiting to cross a busy street in front of my favorite coffee house. Happy fall to birds, seeds and splashing kids.

All my pictures of turkeys are them looking like Ugly Birds. 🙂 And they are pretty cute as chicks, but I couldn’t get a good picture. 🙂 I can image the turkey going into your coffee place for a cup. 🙂

If you were my kid, I would make you chocolate chip cookies and keep you safe on dark nights. I know what matters. 😉

I considered calling it Ugly Bird and make it entirely about turkeys, but that just seemed to give them too much attention. LOL I have my good spirits, still. That makes it good to be me, surgery or no. 🙂 Thanks for your comment.

How is the healing? I hope less painful than before!

This was my best surgery yet. LOL Can’t say I want any more again ever, though. I’m not looking forward to starting PT on Tuesday, but I am looking forward to someday being ALL better. Fingers crossed I get there. How are you?

Oh, I just read your previous post and see that the surgery went well.

Yes, I’m lucky that my rotator cuff tear was pretty small. And he got the bone back off the tendon, so in the long run, the shoulder should work better.

Goodness, I am not sure what I would do if turkeys roamed the neighborhood. Nothing, I suppose. I certainly wouldn’t have the wits to write a witty poem like yours. How are things post surgery?

My arm is loosening up a bit. I’m only taking ibuprofen for it, so the pain isn’t too bad. Physical therapy starts next week, and I’m dreading that. And I’d like to get back to driving soon. 🙂 Thanks for asking. XOXO

Hopefully you will get good therapy and it won’t be too difficult. Must be difficult, though, not being able to drive. Are you housebound, or relying on public transport?

Staying home for now. My hubby will drive me a few places early next week, then we’ll see. I’m managing nicely due to lots of advance shopping. 🙂
