“Mirror, Mirror, shining bright,
in that river to my right,
who’s the fairest in the land?”
River winked at Meadowland:
“You are, fairest lady Sky,
“whether you are wet or dry.”
“Best to keep her happy, dear,
else we’ll dry to dust this year,”
Meadowland agreed with River.
Then Cherry Tree gave a shiver:
“Silence, she might hear you, fools,
you know it’s Lady Sky that rules.”

Lovely capture of the reflection and that pretty forest.

How On Earth you captured this heavenly reflection was a blessing to us all, Brenda! ♡ Outstanding photographic serendipity. Your words are equally lovely and vivid. That “Lady Sky” is so vain and fickle. 🙂

This is a lovely poem Brenda!
There is a happy rhythm to it and the fairy-tale feel flows through in a most engaging way. It gave me a happy smile. Thank you.

I’m so glad you liked the rhythm. I tried out a new strategy for counting beats and I think it worked well. There’s always more to learn and try with poetry, isn’t there?

AnElephant loves anthropomorphism.
And Brenda’s poem.
His friend Emmy does this beautifully, too:

Did you hear we are supposed to get hit with the worst el nino rains this fall/winter? It could send the drought destroyed state slipping into the sea, so I think it is well to be nice to Sky~
LikeLike
Yes, I’ve heard the el nino will be one of the worst in recorded history, whatever that means. I hope it means the end of the drought for Cal, rather than the end of the state. 😉

Just swung by. I hope your sleep improves, my friend. I sleep well because my children wear me out!! LOL

LOL! Children will do that. I did sleep last night, although my paramour said I tossed a lot.

Not at all. Life is wonderful! It’s beautiful here, and I am not going to leave the area. I was in WV last Friday, about 1 hour from here. Love the mountains….

I was in the VT mountains recently. I agree with you. I loved them. I remember WV fondly, windy roads, blue mountains, cool shade and my cousins hunting ginseng and turkeys.
