Sunset-glowing mums
Cast an earthy magic
Over a vanilla day.
My blue mug steams,
The bitter scent of green tea
Mingling with honey’s sweetness.
The calendar suggests newness.
January First: a new morning,
A new chance, a new start, a new dream.
Frozen grass crunches underfoot and
The sky is blue, clear and cold.
My breath steams like my mug:
Superheated for a magical brew,
Making all things seem new.
I resolve to find magic,
In any small detail, new or old,
Find magic and learn to take hold.

Note: Happy New Year to all my friends!! These blooms are thanks to Trader Joe’s, a magical place.
I love, love, love this poem. Especially:
I resolve to find magic,
In any small detail, new or old,
Find magic and learn to take hold.

Yesterday’s magic to well behaved grands (the elder especially so after going over the list of rules at Grama’s house).
That and the first snow of the new year and seeing birds at the feeder. The Red cardinal a bright spot amid the dulled browns and greens.
May you continue to find magic everyday! I really like Mums! I had large white spider mums in my bridal bouquet. 🙂

Mums are beautiful! I’m trying to write another mum-inpired poem, but I haven’t reached happiness with it yet. We have had a dusting of snow, but not enough to hide the poking of the grass.

Mums for Mum? I enjoy the ones in my neighborhood – the various colors and sized of the bushes. A rainbow of colors.
It was 9 F last night, warmed up to double digits of 17 F.

The next major hurdle is the third call for Jury duty in as many years (the first two I wasn’t needed).
Then the new front door next month.
The ’round to it’ list is long.
The next vacation is too far away to even dream about. Thanks 🙂

I liked your way of using the words, Resolve and finding magic. Yes, we all need to be happily dreamy and becoming like children again.
