Tiny snowflakes fall like stars.
Crystals twinkle on my boots,
Glowing with spun-sugar magic.
Jack Frost dances just out of sight,
Sending temperatures plummeting.
Infant-flakes lay cradled in russet leaves.
Snow flurries billow like the
Translucent skirts of a Winter Goddess.

Living here on the coast, your poems are the best taste of winter I get, and it’s always moderated so beautifully, not like that stuff New York and Buffalo got hit with. So thanks for being my friendly weather-person. Read you later.

I like that, a friendly-weather person. We are lucky here right now that the Nor’easter than passed through dumped rain rather than snow. We would have been buried! Take care, Brenda

Oh, much warmer there. This time of year, mid Nor’easter, I am jealous. 🙂

Warmer and still humid some days. Yuck. Don’t be jealous. I’m envious of your weather. 🙂

We had torrential rain all day, gale force winds and temps in the 40s. Are you sure you envy us? LOL

That’s lovely, Brenda. I think it can be difficult to write a beautiful winter poem. You made it look easy 🙂

Thanks! I thought it would be impossible when I sat down, but I found the words were there, somewhere. I just needed to let them come. I imagine it’s the same with you, sometimes, right?

Yes, but when the result looks so effortless, I think it is the sign of a great poem. I like winter because it’s a wonderful time for me to reflect on life. My poetry always evolves then too. I found not everyone shares my intimate pleasure with winter however lol!

I have a warm down coat that makes walking in freezing temps a joy. 🙂 I like to walk in any weather, really. I’m lucky that way. No expenses for a gym membership or fancy equipment.

I love to walk too. When the snow falls again, I’m going to try to get some interesting photos for poetry prompts.

I love the Winter Goddess’s gown and the lovely infant snowflakes cradled in russet leaves, Brenda. I like when I think how you inspired and encouraged me to write a story about Jack Frost. I should re-blog it someday in the Winter! smiles!
