Autumn fairy ballet:
Ballerinas dip and spin,
Wings extend lightly and
Long costumes twirl.
A feast for the eyes:
Fall glows in shades of
Butternut squash and pumpkin,
With touches of berry and apple.
The wind lifts the dancers
Into allegro cabrioles, then
Holds another in a graceful arabesque.
The Fae Corps de Ballet
Performs every day.
Happy Halloween! Be spooky and be safe!

A great photo to accompany your poem. I can see the fairy ballet dancers extending those autumnal fruit tinted wings what a delightful fairy show:-)

A lovely ballet – and hoping that the chocolate that I am eating gives me additional energy for the remainder of Halloween today! 🙂

LOL I always think that when I eat chocolate, too. I only wish it were true!

I saw this earlier – I am absolutely in love with this piece. I actually had to execute a cabriole – they were a specialty of mine as a dancer – I was able to knock off triples;) of course that was in the 80’s but – thank you dearly for such a wonderful memory. xx

I am so happy you liked it. I was imagining allegro cabrioles all day, but I think trying to do a triple would hurt me know. LOL Thanks so much for commenting! 🙂 Hugs, Brenda

So perfect! I can almost hear the music — though I’ve been really trying to tune out the call of faerie music, at least while I’m at work, anyway. 🙂 By the way, is that a variety of Japanese maple? It’s breathtaking.

I believe it is a kind of Japanese maple, but they are usually red, so it was stunning. And luminous in the morning sun. Thanks for commenting.

I did, even if I didn’t get to dress up 😦 I wore my faerie wings on my heart 😉

Wearing them on your heart is the best place. Then you never have to take them off. 🙂
