As my children go back to school, the last blooms of the season burst like fireworks. The heat rises, homework swells, plans churn and change. Each day brings new wonders and new opportunities.
Wandering far,
On the borders of beauty,
Seeing zinnias and dahlias,
Sprawling in full bloom,
I am in the garden bright.
Snow might be coming,
But not until another day.
The seasons change gently, day by day, beginning with red leaves interspersed with the green. Berries replace flowers, and the sun’s rays dwindle. The squirrels chatter, chase and hide acorns frantically. All around me is late summer, but the preparation for winter is nigh.

Late summer is so lovely, not nearly so hot! It funny how we wait all winter for summer and yet it passes so quick – I hope you don’t get too much snow this winter Brenda, no more slipping over! 🙂

The days are dwindling, and it is sad. But even though December is coming, the days will roll out again, longer and longer. We can count on every day being different from the next. 🙂

Once autumn is official, I do look forward to the middle of December and the minute lengthening of daze 🙂
No reason to be sad… each season has a reason.
Unless you are a snowbird. Or like a cooler climate.

I like all the seasons. Although my least favorite is February and March — the winter doldrums. Still, I howl with laughter when we go sledding and serve up the hot chocolate with a smile. And bless the passing of the bugs. 🙂
