Hmm, irises of all colors, and I like white and pink lilacs, too. In that case of irises, it’s the shape and size, and in the case of lilacs, it’s the scent. I remember that scent of lilacs from my deepest childhood. I planted them under my windows, and when the wind is just right, I am straight back to my childhood. 🙂 Roses are beautiful, too, of course.
Great Brenda. I love living part of my life, permanently in kid mode. I have a business side to me and a fun/kid side to me. I like writing business books and kids picture books, and that is reflected in my home environment.
Yes, I have a more pragmatic business side, too. I’m a lawyer, after all. But my inner child is happy these days, picnicking in the sun and turning cartwheels with the fairies. I love that adults like what I write, too. 😀 Thanks for commenting and brightening my day!! Cheers, Brenda
Lovely, Charming ladies lunch! Wow these are beautiful! You and JM got the flowers thing going on. Hope your book is going well. Hugs to you super MOM! ❤
Yes! I am so excited!! I finished the draft and I’m now trying to yank the first page into fascinating-ness, hook-ability, publishability and delicious tastiness!! LOL Then I can ask respectfully for some fairy dust, and I’m good to go!!
Oh , they are beautiful Brenda! My grandmother’s garden is full of these flowers! so this post made me think of my granny! 🙂 She is 83, but still a charming lady 🙂 Just like her flowers 🙂 I talked to my mother yesterday and she had helped my granny tend to her garden. How lovely that they had been gardening together. The garden must be blooming now, since it is May 🙂
*giggle* I know what you mean but I actually saw this bee by one of French Lilac bushes. And YES I have buds. Yippee, if I can only find a way to bottle Lilac aroma I would. I LOVE their fragrance. xx Amy
Now you WOULD have had to say that to me. Hmmmm….. Gee, why, um, thank you, FRIEND. I am glad for you. If you figure out a way how to bottle that aroma, let me know. xx
Oh yes. Yes I do remember dusting powder. OH boy. Does that bring memories. And I also remember the Lily of Valley scent as well. They don’t make it anymore, though. I’ve looked. What a shame.
Sigh for a youth of soft grandma laps, scented with lilac, fat leather purses full of candy bars and rhinestone cat-eye glasses. I miss her, imperfect as she was, she was mine.
Brenda, I miss my Grandma too. Especially her lap as she sat on her rocking chair. I wish I could be transported back in time when she held me on her lap, whispering LOVE in my ear. (((HUGS))) Amy
