The invisible spring wind
Shakes silky blooming branches
And tastes sweet flower petals.
The flower fairy fragrance swirls.
The tallest branches dance,
Encircle the sun, hug the wind.

That sounds like a really beautiful day – dream like! 🙂 The picture is wonderful – I might be about to land in your tree, as a bee or a fairy!! 😉

Such a bucolic universe.
I love the imagery you have achieved through those natural poetic images.
Hope you have a great week ahead, Brenda, Aquileana 🙂

Thanks, I do like concentrating on the bucolic rather than the choleric. 🙂 And you have a great week, too!!

Brenda, I have been a follower for a few months now, and your pictures and poems amaze me, I didn’t think that so many pictures could show so much beauty, and I thought I would tire of seeing the pictures but I haven’t. I enjoy them as much today as I did the 1st time I viewed your blog. Thank you, Bill

Bill, I’m so glad you said that. I would hate for it to get old or stale. I did wonder, now that I am through a whole year if it would start to feel forced, repetitive or routine to me, but no. I can’t say it does. I always think of new ideas. Somehow. I don’t know how. I read on someone’s blog: a creative person’s mind is like a browser with over 2,000 windows open. That’s what it feels like to me, too! I’m so glad my blogging friends aren’t finding it boring. 🙂 Hugs, Brenda

Beautiful poem, Brenda. I love laurel, and your poem’s a great, sweet representation of its liveliness! best, Deborah (ruralstudies)

Deborah,
Thanks for you kind comments. Laurel is a beautiful tree. My husband thought it was a variety of cherry. Some people have weeping laurels and others weeping cherries, and they look just the same except for color.
I looked up your bio, and I thought I’d mention I studied at the Cornell’s Ag school. I studied some horticulture and various sciences and got my B.S. many years ago. They didn’t have history or English: other colleges offered those. I loved horticulture, and I garden as much as my bad back allows.
I’ve always wanted to visit Nova Scotia. It looks so beautiful in summer. I noticed the ferry is running from Boston again. 🙂
Do you have a blog? I try to replay visits, but I didn’t find a blog.
Warmly, Brenda

Hi Brenda, Thanks for your message. How cool – you were at Cornell!!! Fantastic place – had several friends who went there. My only blog (active) right now is http://www.nomorelittering.wordpress.com. I’m frightfully behind on several things, but it’s spring!! best, Deborah

I love this so much Brenda! It makes me feel the spring! And today I needed to feel the spring, I have been suffering from the extreme heat here, and I am so exhausted now. So this poem made me close my eyes and think of Norwegian cool springs! I love it when, after a long cold winter, the sun starts to get some warmth in it, and the air is still cold, so sitting under the sun feels like sitting close to a warm fire in cold winter 🙂 And I love flower fairy fragrance too! When I think of that fragrance I think of Holly trees in bloom 🙂

Yes, the air is cold, but the sun is very warming right now. Why are you in India? Sounds like you long to move back to Norway? Is your heart calling you home?

Well, my heart at least wants to go there for a long visit! 🙂 And I am planning to do just that later in the summer 🙂
I love India too, but not in this heat!!! I am going on a holiday next week, so I am really looking forward to that! 🙂 For now though, I will have to manage! and I will 🙂
