Summer has arrived in New England!

April Fools! We had hail, sleet and rain yesterday: what the weather professionals call a “wintry mix.” I prefer my wintery mix to include a fire in the fireplace, hot chocolate, a foot rub and my dinner delivered by the culinarily gifted. I wonder if that will ever happen. At least the pizza place delivers. 🙂

Here are some brave early flowers, just poking up their heads and drinking some rain. The oak trees have started dropping leaves, and new green leaves are sure to be along any day. Warmth and sunlight are predicted, but who knows if the weather professions are just joking or serious.

Have a fun First!

Warmly, Brenda

Note: For any not familiar with the U.S.A. April First tradition, I will explain. The goal is to get someone to believe something diabolical, and wait for them to interject: “What!?!” Then you yell “April Fool’s!!” And laugh a lot while they groan.

    • I’d like to enjoy spring for a few weeks first. Sometimes summer comes along too fast, elbowing spring right out of the way, straight to 90 degrees and brutal sunlight. 🙂 We’ll see how it goes…

      • That’s a real shame, spring is the best transition of seasons for me. I hope you get a little bit of spring this year 🙂 x

    • Thanks! LOL I told my son this morning that is was going up to 90 degrees, and he said wow!! Then I said April Fools and he groaned. He paused, and then he said: “I forgot about that! I don’t have anything ready for school.” I invited him to use mine. Do you do April Fools?

  2. And I believed you for a fraction of a second. Briefly thought, ‘That was a quick thaw!’ Hopefully, not too long for you now. Our Spring has sprung – more or less. Keeps jumping back and forth. Maybe that’s why it’s called spring. 😉
In the meantime, lots of hot choc and comfort food by blazing fires. Enjoy!
Lovely garden btw. Is it a park or your garden from another season? x
