Patches of snow gleam in drifts,
Branches entwine in red towers,
High rises for fairies on shifts,
Thicket bark lovelier than flowers.

Brenda, I look forward to spring and summer when that plant is in bloom. I don’t remember anything like that in Northern Viriginia when I lived there. Yet in the branches I see it’s potential. Take care, Bill

Some of my readers believe it’s a dogwood, I guess there must be a variety with red bark, but I have no idea. It’s far enough away from my house, I’m not sure I’ll recognize it once it has leafed up or bloomed. If I figure it out, I’ll post it. VA must have been beautiful. Did you live in the foothills or were you farther from Appalachia?

The thicket red is lovelier than flowers, I agree! The tubular plants remind me of red licorice! Smiles, Robin

Thanks for the compliment. Just have to keep practicing and practicing to write better as with everything. Hopefully I have more time for it.
Hugs back.
