I forgot to say, that heart-shaped pond was so sweet. What a lovely thing to see from your window everyday. Thanks for commenting, I think our tough New England perennials will make it through. 🙂 Warmly, Brenda
My family still owns the land and there are three houses on the property. The “Old House” was torn down by an uncle and the pond was about 20 yards from the house. That house was built by my ancestors before the American Civil War; when my uncle tore it down they found all kinds of historic things and antiques. When I was three and the house was still standing, I found an old wooden doll up underneath the house that likely belonged to my grandfather’s sister. The doll’s joints were all hinged so it can be posed. I loved that old house and that pond and when I go back there I stop by and look at it. When I was little, maybe four to six, I used to sit old milk bottles on the ledge and pour pond water from one bottle to the other.
No … lol I live in Northern Territory, Australia – Hot Humid and very tropical….
I do recall having ONE sole piece of Hail land on the windscreen of my car one time.. it was a freak accident, I think it fell from a plane or something *blank stares*

Poor you. The trauma of that lone piece of hail. My kids have five tunnels in our small back yard.
