My Cup Runneth Over

I have received showers of blessings. Friendlyfairytales has received so many lovely comments, praise, support and attention, that awards seem like icing. Of course, I’ve always liked icing. 🙂

The rules are partly about sharing yourself. I’m sharing something very personal today.

The Psalms were some of the earliest spoken poetry I ever remember hearing. My beloved mother passed away when I was four years old. Perhaps my imagination provided me this, but if I have any memories of her voice left, it would be of her saying these words, giving me an abiding love of poetry and also a sense of security beyond my own family:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul…

My current quest for combining poetry, nature and stories harkens back to those early, peaceful memories of safety. In the spirit of thankfulness for blessings, past and present, I want to, yet again, share a brand new movie (my third ever!! I hope they are improving!!), made by my kids and I, called Water of Life:

Thanks to Reocochran for gifting friendlyfairytales a whole bouquet of awards from which I could choose, and she told a lovely story about the bouquet she carried at her first wedding. Since I already have received all these awards, instead of gathering up those tokens, in her honor, I’ve made this acceptance token:

Thanks to Ajaytao, who visited me with a Super-Sized Award Portion, and I’ll put the icons up because they are new to me!! Many bloggers already know Ajaytao, but if you don’t, you are in for a real treat. He has a loving, wise vibe surrounded always by beauty in thought and nature.

Notes on Awards: Liebster means dearest in German, and this is given to newer bloggers. Semper Fidelis means always faithful in latin and represents fidelity and love between blogging friends. The others are pretty self-explanatory.

If I follow all the rules, I would be posting awards, sometimes several a day, and I would have no time for writing and creating, and soon I would be sad, and getting awards would feel burdensome. Plus I would bore all of you with the minutiae of my life answering all the questions. I do want to share the love with other great bloggers who have given generously to me of time and attention, and who daily make my cup runneth over with joy and love. If I haven’t named you, it is simply dinner time and I ran out of time. I also can’t name over 600!!

  10. When I was a kid the Bible disturbed me, but when I really read it as an adult I realized that my fear was unfounded and that I’d deprived myself of the greatest inspiration I could ever have. I love when people are so open about their faith. Also love people who love fairy tales and happy endings.

    • You know I’m tempted daily to do the same. Then an idea occurs to me for a new award theme or a new video… Gives me a giggle. You shouldn’t do it unless you want to, though. I’m trying to make each award posting heartfelt or funny or both. Cheers, Brenda

    Thank you for explaining the reasons for the awards and how to go about it. I am in the same predicament right now but as you know I want to share the gift to as many bloggers as possible. I may procrastinate writing award posts but I will write them finally. 🙂

    • I had a hard childhood, but I have built a beautiful life for myself. I’m the phoenix, reborn. I understand the pain and sadness of others, and I’m unafraid to say so.   26. This was outstanding! I especially loved my token of cup runneth over, and also the film was so sweet and moving. I am proud of you for sharing your personal story and moved beyond words, too. The words of Psalms are awesome, I can never hear them without some kind of “goose bumps” or teary eyed reception. I will always check back on this post, my future one to rest, relax, find peace and take comfort in the company of my dear friend, Brenda! This was the best awards acceptance post ever!     • You are lovely! I am feeling a bit like an award glutton, who doesn’t know when to leave the table. But I do so love to share the love. 🙂 And my kids have such fun helping me make little videos.

  38. Well done! I’ll have to dig around to find videos one and two..it’s so cool you made it with your kids thus making them little portfolios of work too. Awesome. This is going up on my list of things to do with Z..:)

    • Cool beans! My sons are both really happy about it. 🙂 The other videos are also in award postings, so if you click on the award group in the sidebar, you should find them without too much trouble.

      • Och, bless. Now you can encourage them with their practice sessions and say, ‘Well, whoever practises most…..’. Many bright sides and bonuses. 🙂
        Funny thing about my memory is I can remember conversations practically verbatim and can’t remember what I had to eat yesterday. That sort of memory. 🙂 x

        • Yes, I also remember conversations, but not necessarily who I had them with!! Most inconvenient a lapse! I take in the dialogue whole cloth, though. 🙂

          Yes, both boys have been practicing up a storm in order to make the video, but it did delay the award posting by half a week! 🙂
